First Day Back to Work....69 days of Chantix!

Well, the party is over! I went back to work today. I was surprised at how many kids showed up. I guess they missed us! Three weeks is a pretty significant break for anyone. I was even happy to go back. I did feel a few unexpected "tuggings" for a cigarette today. Maybe my non-smoker self forgot and was expecting a smoke break. I just told my former smoking self," Thanks for sharing...." I then took a quick walk around the school and later tutored a student so I didn't have time to think about smoking. I must say, I still pull out the fake cig or straw at times when I drive. I don't know if I will ever not think about smoking when I drive for long distances.

I can't believe its almost going to be 60 days off cigarettes, nicotine replacement and all that other crap! I stopped smoking on November 11, 2007! I have been on Chantix for a total of 69 days! Amazing is all I can say about it! I am looking forward to celebrating this Friday, January 11, 2007. I am going back to the support group beginning this Wednesday. I really believe you gotta give it back to keep it.
Peace,
Diva

Congrats on working without smoke breaks! Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it.

A couple of posts ago, you mentioned liking to hear about some of our small towns. Here's a little about mine.

Well, I don't actually live in a town, I live on top of a mountain where they call it the plateau. We are a very small community where there is lots of churches, the school is K-12, and just about everyone knows one another so when you drive down the road, everyone waves at you. :)

I'm from Michigan and still have most of my family there. Life here in Tennessee is much slower. The kids seem to keep their innocence a little longer and will proudly state that they are a christian. Even their myspace pages speak of their faith. If somebody feels like saying a prayer on school grounds, they do without a second thought. No law suits here for expressing your faith in God or anything else.

I go down the mountain once or twice a week to shop. The local town where I go has a Walmart,(of course), Goody's, Lowes, and a couple of small clothing and shoe stores. If I want to do more shopping than that, a bigger town is just 25 minutes away with all kinds of shoppping including an outlet mall.

If I don't feel like dealing with Walmart, there is an even smaller town that I go to in the other direction. This town is about 25 minutes away too, but a lot smaller. This is the county seat and has a population of less than 1000. There is a family owned grocery store (I love those kind), a Hammers dept store, Family Dollar and Dollar General. Not exactly a good shopping town, lol, but it is great for groceries.

You definitely can't love the fast life and live where I do. I was raised in a city, but hubby and I have always lived in the country and love it. It's scarey to hear the news when they report murders, rapes, robberies and so many other things from the city. Knoxville is about 60 miles from here, so we hear a lot of that on the news. It's just so different where we live. We don't lock our cars or worry about anything getting stolen from our yards. It doesn't happen here. At least not yet.......

I could go on and on but I'd better not. :) That's just a little taste of where we live.

Good for you Diva!!

What is it you want to know about cruising? I've been on 10 cruises and yes I've been to Belize. Ask away and I'll do my best to answer.

Keep up the Quit, you're doing it, not smoking and feeling wonderful!!!

I feel for you. Now that my kids have returned to school, getting back into my normal routine has been hard. I'll be sitting down concentrating on something and the voice inside my head, that apparantely didn't get the memo that I quit, will tell me it's time for a smoke break. Damn voices - LOL
