I just wanted to send a big shout out to all my fellow Chantix bloggers for responding to my post about being scared to go off Chantix. You guys and girls are the best!
Well, I had tons of fun in the dental chair finishing up my root canal and getting the prep work done for the crown. I was in that dental chair for almost two hours! I CANNOT believe how expensive one tooth is... and I have insurance! Fortunately, my dentist lowered my part of the co-pay so it was a lot less than it could have been. I got the temporary crown and at the end of the day, I felt like I got socked in the mouth!

Later that evening, I went out with some friends to play Legendary Bingo and its definitely not your grandma's bingo. I fondly refer to it as "Drag Queen Bingo!" They have a wide variety of drag queens who call the balls and guest celebrities. Tonite an organization called "What a Pair" was there to raise money for breast cancer research and it was a ton of fun. There were lots of celebrities on hand and I was shocked to see that the lady who was in the OLD 70's show "Welcome Back Kotter" with John Travolta looked EXACTLY the same as she did when she played Kotter's wife! I want the name of her doctor, lets just put it that way! I actually won a game of bingo but then another lady called Bingo too! She was a breast cancer survivor and in the middle of treatment so she was kind of slow. I was ready to give her the game at that point but we played a game of highball and I lost. For my consolation prize, I got to reach into the "Bag of Crap" and won baby booties and a cap that said "My Little Monkey" on them! My friend "Bingo Boy" who puts all this together was shocked that I did not go outside to smoke. I told him I had quit and told him about Chantnix, the miracle drug that has been so helpful in me quitting. Anyway, it was nice to go out and have fun and not miss smoking. It has been 65 days on Chantix!

It is a miracle drug. My husband went to Prompt Care last night for an ear infection and the doctor there told him that Chantix is the only drug he has ever seen that actually works.
Don't worry about coming off Chantix when you are still on it. Maybe you can get your doctor to extend the amount of time you are taking Chantix.

What a fun story. I want to go to drag queen celebrity bingo. But in this little town they'd probably call out the national guard and an exorcist if a drag queen showed up anywhere in public.
Your bingo sounds fun. I don't think that drag queens would be that popular around here where I live either. lol We're a pretty small community.
I don't think that I could have quit without Chantix at all. I had tried so many times, that I was getting tired of trying. I ended up taking the Chantix for a little over 2 months. I was starting to feel nauseous alot and finding it difficult to take in fluids so I cut my dosage in half. After about a week of that, I just stopped taking it.
I'm 51 and started smoking when I was 16. Until a couple of years ago, I smoked more than a carton a week. Two years ago, I cut down to a little less than a pack a day.
Chantix is one of the best things that's come around in a very long time. If it can help me quit smoking, it can help anyone. I don't think that my cravings were any worse after I stopped taking it, but I kept my remaining pills handy just in case I got weak. I still struggle at times, but I just think that some people do more than others. My husband quit cold turkey two years ago and was a very heavy smoker. His cravings were gone after a couple of months. He just asked me today if I still have cravings and couldn't believe it when I told him yes.
You'll be fine when your Chantix is gone. Just keep your goal in mind and relish in the fact that you don't smoke anymore. I'm so glad that I don't!
Sometimes I really love living in LA for the diversity and such. My friend's organization has raised millions of dollars for different chairites and its super fun! My fiends had aa blast and are dying to go back. Its interesting that all kinds of people show up, gay, straight, bisexual, black, white, wealthy, common folks, handicapped people, celebrities...whoever! I would love hearing about your guy's small towns.
