The Medicine seems to be Helping....ALMOST 50 DAYS OFF CIGARETTES! WHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!

Lets see, it has been almost 50 days since I have smoked! I will have two months on January 11th, 2008. I am so glad that I do not have to list "quit smoking" as a New Years resolution. Now, I can resolve to eat better and exercise more so I don't gain anymore weight. I honestly do not know if I gained weight from not smoking or if it is a side effect of the steroid medication I am on. This is the second dose of steroids that has been given to me to stop the inflamination in my lungs and throat. The side affects are really fun stuff....acne, weight gain, increased appitite, facial bloating etc. I am still not eating much and what I am eating is basically crap. Nothing really tastes good but I have to eat to take both Chantix and the steroid medicine. Anyway, I hope to be better by the New Year.

Peace,
Diva

I hear you! New Year's was going to be my goal, too. Then I realized that it was just another way of putting it off, so I just called the doctor that day and did it. Glad I did. Glad you did. Great job and hope you feel better soon. Have they given you an actual antibiotic yet? Nebulizer treatments? My daughter has asthma and it always seems to end up needing an antibiotic along with the steroids.

I love not having to worry about whether to make the quit smoking New Year's resolution this year. Done. Maintaining quit is so very much easier than quitting.

I've gained a little weight, and I, too, will be paying attention to make sure I stay within the realm of healthy weight for me. I don't have the added medication issue working against me, though. That doesn't seem quite fair...

I have had the nebulizer treatments and then two series of steriods. I do not have in infection. I can always tell....green! YUCK! I have a virus and there is not much point to taking antibiodics for what I have. I have not needed athsma medicine for YEARS so I agree its not fair but then again, life isn't really fair. I am just glad I am able to talk again and breathe deeply once again! This was probably the biggest wake up call I have dealt with in a LONG time...Ok guys, the holidays are upon us so lets stay quit!
Peace,
Diva
PS: Thanks for asking..you guys are so sweet! :)
